General Description
Jonathan is a self taught computer technician with a wide range of other skills. The bulk of his work experience has been in the computer repair and computer networking industry. Over half of his experience in that industry has been customer relations. Jonathan loves to travel and adapts to new work places easily, quickly forging strong working relationships. Jonathan’s home school education gives him an edge in learning and adapting to new problems and situations.
Education
- 1999-2004 Hillsdale College. Majoring in Economics (graduated in May ‘04)
- 1998 Graduated from homeschooling
Work Experience
- 1995-1998 Apprenticed carpenter, working for Hoyt and Son Construction doing building and finish work
- 1996-1997 Started and managed VRcade, Inc., doing virtual reality entertainment.
- 1996-2005 Started Legend Computer Services, doing IT consulting in Hillsdale County. Jonathan owns and operates LCS and is currently the sole employee. LCS specializes in computer hardware and software troubleshooting, networking, and general PC repairs.
- 2002 Mission work, teaching mathematics in a secondary school in East Africa.
- 2005-present Partnered with Brad Cochran and bought SabreTech Consulting LLC, a small IT firm based in Hillsdale Michigan, specializing in IT solutions for organizations and individuals.
Special Skills
- Software and hardware troubleshooting on Win95, Win98, WinME, WinXP, WinNT, and Win2000, Mac OSX, and Linux
- Advanced networking, including experience with Cisco, 3Com, D-link, Linksys, and Adtran equipment.
- Jonathan also has extensive wireless experience (second tech on the first WISP in Hillsdale MI)
- Web developement experience, including site design, application design and programming.
- Extensive customer relations experience, in sales and troubleshooting.
